Following the decision of Chairman Mr Phillip webster and Secretary Mr Geraint Thomas to step down, an E.G.M. was held on Friday 21st July, where members elected a new honorary Chairman and secretary. The voting turnout reached an encouraging 87.5%, with members that were unable to attend voting in an online ballot for the first time in the club's history.

Abercwmboi RFC is pleased to announce the election of Rhydian Collins as our new Honorary Chairman and Anthony Meredith as Honorary Secretary.

The club would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Chairman and Secretary, Mr Phillip webster, and Mr Geraint Thomas for all their efforts over the past decade. Both have worked tirelessly to ensure that our club has continued to grow in all aspects but also managed the club through one of the most testing periods for small businesses in recent times. Both Phil & Geraint will still be involved with the club where they'll be on hand to share their knowledge and experience when needed, which is highly appreciated by all at the club. Both are looking forward to taking a reduced role on the committee which will enable them to spend more time with their families.

Speaking after their appointments, both Rhydian and Anthony said:

The club has been a massive part of my life and I’m very grateful to be given the opportunity to work within this role and hopefully take the club forward, develop our fantastic facilities and ensure the future of our great club for all future generations to enjoy as I have been able to."
