Coaching set-up for Seaon 2019-2020

Abercwmboi RFC are pleased to announce the Coaching set-up for the Senior and Youth teams for the coming season.

The senior coaches are both products of our mini/junior/youth teams who are have returned to the club after playing at a high level. Craig (Pancho) Evans continues as forward coach after playing and captaining Mountain Ash for several years. Neil (Beanie) Burnett is taking over as backs coach after playing for a number of Division One and Championship clubs, including Newbridge, Bargoed and Ebbw Vale. Both Neil and Craig are looking forward to building on the successes of the past few seasons under the coaching of NIck James and Geraint Cutlan. Nick James is taking over as first team manager, whilst Geraint Cutlan has decided to take a step back from coaching/admin and all at the club wish to thank them and wish them luck in the future. Mark Cryer will continue with his sterling efforts in managing the second team.

The Youth team also have several new faces in charge this season, though they will be familiar to several of the players as they have coached/managed them as they have moved through the mini/junior sections at the club. The coaches are Tyrone Freil and Andrew Burton and the team manager is Anthony (Shaku) Meredith.

Training started this week and sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 18:45 with all players, old and new, are welcome. The coaches from both seniors and youth will be working closely to make the sessions as interesting as possible and everyone in the club is looking forward to what promises to be a tough campaign, especially for the first team.
